Scamming
websites are like a fly in my ointment. You
scour the Internet looking for legitimate opportunities to work from
home – but all you can see is dishonesty and fraudulent
schemes. Now I am not going to list
all the millions of ways to trick people from their money.
Its easy enough to find.
Goto Google and type in some
keywords like free home based business opportunity, work at
home moms, work from home…
....SURPRISE!
WEBSITE SCAMS!
If you
take any time to scroll through the following pages you will see claims
of making $10,000 / month without breaking a sweat.
The sad part is: most the of
the people being scammed are those least able to afford it.
Let me skip right to the
section on how to protect yourself.
How
to protect vs. the evil scam-sites:
If you
are susceptible to getting sucked into scams – stay away.
These sites prey upon your
emotions, real financial needs, and make you believe that for a small
price they have all the answers. Ask
yourself a couple of questions.
- If
they made millions – what do they need my $5 or $100 for?
Answer: They are not rich and
are only making money from people buying their ideas that do not work.
- Is
what they are saying even realistic?
Answer: If they make claims of
becoming a millionaire overnight – or making thousands per
month – they are delusional.
- Do they have a phone number?
Use it and talk to a real person. Also check out thier street address.
People claiming easy money are liars! Making money from the
Internet is anything but easy. People
are by nature more leery of buying online than in a store.
It also takes a lot of time
and/or money to build a professional web-site, get
it high in search engine rankings, market your product, and find buyers.
And this is all assuming
that you have a real genuine product that people will want to buy.
I know from experience.
When you site down and work
out your time spent, dollars invested, profit made and then work out
your hourly wage – its downright depressing!
How
to get revenge: I will tell you the best possible way
– but I may even get in trouble for it.
Hurt them by draining their
advertising budget. When their
advertising dollars are gone – you likely won’t see
their site popping up on the Internet very often.
For instance –
some sites have ad-bars on them and the advertiser pays per click on
the ad. You click on the ad and the
scammer has to pay someone like Google $1 - $5 for the directed traffic.
They do this because they
know that 1 out of every 20 people(or whatever stats they have) buy
their scam. If they spend $1 x 20
clicks that is $20 – but they make $100 on the sale.
Warning: If
you do this method you should only click on ads a few times or it will
adversely affect the web-site you are visiting and the scam website may
not even have to pay the clicking advertising amounts.
What if
everyone that saw an ad that seemed a bit scammish in nature
– clicked it – but didn’t even bother to
read it? How long before the
business went belly-up from advertising costs and no sales?
To go one dangerous step
further – what would prevent you from going to Google and
punching in key-phrases that MAKE the scam sites come up in the
ad-boxes – and then click on a few? If
large numbers of people did that a few times a day – these
sites would all but disappear – or at least quit advertising
– which would effectively eliminate them as well.
