The
Paypal Scams
What scams do people perform with
Paypal?
Why does Paypal allow it?
How can you get revenge? |
|
‘Give me some money and I will
return it with 50% extra.’
‘I will
double all money within 30 minutes.’
Have you seen similar claims? The
premise is simple. Pay them with a
good 3rd party financial system – such
as e-gold.
Paypal
Scams 101 :
Then
they pay you double with some seedy financial system such as paypal.
You
have doubled your money for a very short time until they do a charge
back through Paypal. Simple
– especially so since Paypal allows members to make accounts
and fund them with either bogus or anonymous personal information.
This way there are no
repercussions toward the scamming person. Paypal scams: who is worse -
paypal or the scammer?
To put
it even simpler – it could run this way.
Pay me $100 cash and I will
give you a bad check for $200. Or
give me $100 cash and I will give you $200 through my credit card.
In one month I will do a
charge back to recoup my money and you will have nothing.
Imagine: having a bank
account with anonymous information!?!
How
to protect yourself: Just don’t do it!
It doesn’t make
sense – so stay away. Don’t
get sucked in by your greed. The
only other way I can think of to get back is to shut down your paypal
account.
If
enough people complained about this and other scams and shut down their
accounts – maybe Paypal would take notice.
Another
HIGH-RISK maneuver would be to pay them, get your money through Paypal
and quickly try to funnel the money to your bank account while closing
your Paypal account. I doubt you
could do it in time though and your credit card would still likely have
to stand good on the money.
